Monetization Information
Will EQL be free-to-play? One time purchase? Subscription?
EQ Legends will not be F2P. The game will have an upfront fee and will operate with a subscription model. We believe the pricing will be at the lower end of most players’ expectations. We will provide more details soon.
Will there be a charge to play Beta?
Beta will be free for those chosen from the players who registered at https://www.everquestlegends.com/ You will need a Daybreak account in order to participate, but no fees will apply. We appreciate your help in polishing our game!
Will I be able to use Krono or All-Access Membership to play EQL?
EQL will have its own subscription outside of All-Access. The game will not use Krono or anything similar to Krono.
Will there be microtransactions through an in-game marketplace?
There will be cosmetic and utility items offered for sale in game, which in no way impact power. For example, we will include xp potions, and some special new items that can be used to customize your character.
Is Daybreak hosting the servers?
Yes, EQL will be hosted on Daybreak’s servers and supported by the Daybreak platform team. A strong, stable infrastructure is essential to our success.

Gameplay
What races will be available in Beta and launch?
15 races will be available at launch, including all 12 of the original EverQuest races: Human, Barbarian, Half-Elf, Wood Elf, High Elf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Erudite, Halfling, Ogre, Troll, plus Kerran, Iksar and Froglok!
Kerran, Iksar, and Frogloks were not in the original launch of EverQuest in 1999, where do these races start in EQL?
Iksar will emerge from a newly created zone, an encampment linked to the shores of North Ro.
Frogloks will spawn in Norrath in Rathe Mountains. Their appearance is in keeping with the Frogloks in original EQ. Kerran will start on Kerra Isle.
Will Iksar still be considered “evil” or will they be neutral in EQL?
Iksar are not well liked by anyone, however they are more slightly more tolerant of outsiders than the Kunark natives, except those who worship a specific entity.
How do Kerrans differ from Vah Shir in classic EverQuest?
You’ll have to play and find out.
Will you add any new races over time?
There are no plans to add additional races at launch. New races may certainly be added in the future.
Can you explain how multiclassing works? Can I be a Dwarven Wizard?
At character creation, your first class will be determined by the selection associated with your race. For Dwarves, this would be Warrior, Paladin, Cleric, Berserker, andRogue. You can then choose ANY class as your secondary, and at level 10, any third class!
We hear that you can switch out your classes and potentially level all of them to 50! Can the class-switching be done on the fly, say in the middle of a raid? What is the process?
Race and Primary Class combinations can be changed in any major city among the options you have unlocked. Non-primary classes can be changed without needing any unlocks.
With characters and equipment as powerful as they sound, will this just trivialize the game?
The baseline difficulty is roughly the same as 1999 EverQuest, although your character can grow much stronger. As your character gains epic strength, you can notch up the difficulty and gain better rewards using the difficulty system.
If I have three pet classes as my build, can I call out three pets?
Pets will be limited to one per player, at this time.
Will AA (Alternate Advancement) be in at launch?
Passive AAs will be available from level 1 on. Active AAs will become available at appropriate levels.
What is the rate of experience gain in EQL?
Experience will come in more slowly than in the current live version of EverQuest, but faster than EverQuest in 1999. You can increase the xp gain by increasing the difficulty of your zone – if you dare. Your characters are also immensely more powerful, with the ability to “stack” equipment stats, so your individual times to level will vary.
Are there “Hell Levels” for experience, as there were in original EQ?
No, the modern smooth experience curve is in effect.
Do Ogres gain experience more slowly, as in original EQ?
All class and race modifiers to experience have been removed.
What zones will be available in Beta and Launch?
All Classic EverQuest zones on Antonica, Faydwer and Odus. More content and zones will be released over time and announced well in advance by the Dev Team.
Will Plane of Fear and Plane of Hate be available in Beta and Launch?
Absolutely. Good luck.
Will zones be instanced?
Players will have the option to create instanced versions of open world zones. Special solo-only instances will also be available for raid content. Some limits will apply to how often a player can create an instanced zone.
Will there be any brand new or retooled zones for us to experience?
Yes.
How do the varying difficulty settings work in zones?
Each zone has five levels of difficulty for you to choose from – with harder settings, more exp will be earned and higher quality rewards will drop.
What about the East Commonlands Tunnel? Will it be the center of direct trade in EQL?
To accommodate for the server load, a separate instance has been created just for players who want to hang out there. For folks just passing through, there’s a non-instanced version of the East Commonlands Tunnel set up as well.
Will there be a Bazaar zone for offline selling of items?
There will be a game feature that allows item trading and selling. More details coming soon.

Yes, at launch. The will be accessible from the East Commonlands Tunnel.
Will there be Guild Halls at launch or later on?
Not at launch.
Do snakes kick in EQL?
